Part of a broader initial curriculum for Admission Counselors at 2U, Inc, this e-learning was created to outline the process of moving a student from counseling to advising. Keeping learners engaged on dry policy and procedure can be a challenge, so I created a board game to not only create interest, but for the learner to experience the pitfalls of failed collaboration during this important transition of the client (student) progressing from prospective student to admittance.
The process is chunked into 3 stages represented on the game board. The learner views the content of each level, learning about the role of the Student Success advisor and their responsibilities along the way. The learner answers knowledge check questions to progress to the next stage, earning badges for a perfect score.
Academic Advisiors compare and contrast their responsibilities with the Student Sucess Advisor as they handoff ownership of a student that is moving from advisement to counseling.
2U student-facing employees must adhere to federal law when speaking to prospective students about Financial Aid. As part of the broader initial Admission Counselor program, this e-learning module outlines the most common talking points an employee would be asked, and how to answer. Depending on which department a 2U employee is in, there are different standards. This e-learning has 2 tracks that offer a different experience based on the role of the employee.
