Experience Designer

About Viki

From immersive learning to intuitive products, I create experiences that engage, inspire, and drive action. Built on a foundation of instructional design and rooted in user-centered thinking, my work brings clarity to complexity—whether you're clicking through a course or navigating a product.

My day job is designing and developing learning experiences for Apple's AIML (Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning) org. My off time is spent with my dog Pita, watching Star Trek reruns, riding roller coasters and experiencing the landscapes and cultures our planet Earth has to offer!

How I got Here

I started my career as a graphic artist, creating graphics for a company that created e-learnings for Navy submariners. I learned programming and built learning simulations and slowly transitioned into instructional design. While working as an ID, I earned a master's degree in user experience, merging these diciplines into my role as a Learning Experience Designer.

Learning Experience + User Experience

I've spent over a decade in the Learning and Development industry, and while I've always cared deeply for my learners, it seems that business needs are always the first priority. I got interested in how I might strengthen support to my learners when I first heard about design thinking, which eventually lead me to earning a masters in User Experience. The intersection of these two disciplines has helped me balance business goals while emphasizing with learners and their needs.

Here is how I've integrated the traditional ADDIE model with a User Centered Design workflow:
